How To Send Inventory To Hutch

Everything you need to know before booking inventory into the Hutch warehouse, from ASNs through to quality checks.

Getting your inventory ready before it leaves your warehouse helps us receive your stock quickly and accurately, so your orders can start shipping sooner.

What is an ASN?

An Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) tells our warehouse what inventory is arriving, so we can prepare for its delivery. Create your ASN from your dashboard under Send inventory.

Before your shipment leaves, make sure:

  • Your ASN has been submitted before the shipment arrives.

  • The expected arrival date is accurate. If your delivery date changes, you can update this in your dashboard.

  • The ASN number is clearly written on or attached to every box or pallet.

Important: If inventory arrives without an ASN, our receiving SLA is automatically extended, rush receiving can't be applied, and any receiving issues caused by missing or incorrect shipment information fall outside our standard SLA.

Preparing Your Shipment

To help our warehouse process your inventory quickly:

  • Label boxes clearly with their contents.

  • Where possible, keep one SKU per box.

  • If a box contains multiple SKUs, keep products clearly separated using individual bags or internal dividers, up to a maximum of 10 SKUs per mixed box.

The easier your stock is to identify, the quicker we can receive it.

Packaging Requirements

For the safety of our warehouse team, each box shouldn't exceed:

  • Maximum dimensions: 40 x 40 x 50cm

  • Maximum weight: 20kg

Barcode Requirements

Every product needs its own barcode. Barcodes should be:

  • Printed in black on white labels

  • Clearly visible

  • Attached to a flat surface

  • Free from folds or reflective materials

If you need barcodes adding, contact your Account Manager before sending your inventory.

Booking Your Delivery

Deliveries need to arrive during our warehouse opening hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 9am to 4pm

  • Saturday: 9am to 3pm

Important: Deliveries arriving outside these hours may be refused.

Rush services only cover inventory receiving, not dispatching orders. Customer orders begin dispatching from the following working day once inventory has been booked into stock.

Note: Very large ASNs may not be eligible for rush processing and will automatically revert to our standard 3 working day SLA.

Split Deliveries

If your shipment is split across multiple days, your rush SLA only starts once the final part of the shipment has arrived.

For example, if 5 boxes are expected and 2 arrive on day 1 with the remaining 3 arriving on day 2, the rush SLA starts from day 2, once the complete ASN has been received.

If you need the first part of a split shipment received sooner, submit separate ASNs and apply rush processing to each one. Your Account Manager can advise if you're unsure.

What We Check When Receiving Your Stock

When your inventory arrives, our warehouse team will:

  • Check for obvious damage, such as leaking or damaged cartons.

  • Verify products match the ASN.

  • Open one case per SKU, where appropriate, to confirm quantities.

  • Record any damaged or unsellable items with photos and comments in your ASN, so you have full visibility.

We don't carry out detailed product quality inspections as part of our standard receiving process. If you need additional quality control checks, speak with your Account Manager before your shipment arrives. Additional charges may apply.

If you have any questions before sending inventory, contact your Account Manager, we're always happy to help.
